I read your email regarding puppies, and can only wish for one at this point. My Kinder goat/chicken farm is on 18 hilly acres, but my fence pasture with goats is only maybe 1/4 acre. From what I've read, that seems to be way too small for a guardian dog. Do yours do any digging? Do they stay on your property?
Hi Deb, thank you for leaving a comment on our website! I don't think 1/4 of an acre is too small for a guardian dog, especially if he has a more laid back personality. With a proper fence they stay on the property but Great Pyrenees are notorious for wandering to increase their territory and shouldn't be expected to stay on a property with no fence. They do dig, they like to dig shallow holes to lay in to keep cool in the summertime. So far they have a perfect record of keeping our goats safe from predators so I can forgive a few sleeping holes.
